Apartment Review for Regents La Jolla - La Jolla, CA

BUILDING AMBIANCE: The property is under conversion and the Board of Directors (association) is still under the majority voting control of the developers. Improvements are made and money is spent to make the complex appear beautiful along the sales tour route, but the other areas the sales prospects dont see are not being well maintained. When the sales office closes, the party and yelling noises and large barking dogs become very annoying. I have seen intoxicating people smoking marijuana and drinking beer at the pool. Also, you can smell the odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of units as you walk by. Anybody is permitted to live here if they have enough money.

MAINTENANCE: The management is very reluctant to make repairs and honor the home warranty because they say the building is settling therefore causing cracks, malfunctioning doors and windows, etc.

RESALES: Residents immediately fell in love with the property and purchased or rented a unit, however, after moving in, they have become unhappy with the rude management, noise, poor maintenance, deferred repairs, etc., and are moving out. Those who purchased are selling the units for a loss to get out and recoup part of their investment.

OVERALL: Dont purchase or rent here.

NOTE: Positive comments about the property have been posted by sales and leasing office. Sales and leasing have slowed down because of the bad reputation of this property.
